A Taste of the Town works with and through non-profit organizations to streamline any event for your fund raising goals. Ticket sales are set up to go directly to your accounts and proceeds are collected for your organization. We can utilize your volunteers and staff - or provide people for your event. We just take the grunt work off your hands!
Food, drink and music are important aspects of anything done in Louisiana. And because we know Louisiana and "fun" go hand in hand, A Taste of the Town works with LOCAL vendors, businesses, musicians and artists! Our goal is to throw an event from which the whole community will benefit.
Cliff Bergeron's Bio
Although they have lived on the Northshore since 2002, Cliff Bergeron and his wife Patricia became Covington business owners in 2005 when they purchased the Arts and Frames Gallery.
Cliff quickly became involved in the business community by volunteering for St. Tammany Art Association's Spring for Art 2006 and he set a goal of getting more businesses to participate and make it a city-wide celebration.
He served on the STAA Board; served as vice-president in 2007-2008; and was elected president in 2009. During his tenure, the STAA was transformed from a gallery to a venue for events and private parties. The renovation of the upstairs into a rental space enabled the association to become profitable.
Cliff was the first president of the Covington Business Association, where he continues to serve as an advisory to the board. The association has grown to over 150 members.
Always looking for new ways to encourage visitors to spend more time in Covington and St. Tammany Parish, in 2011 he began A Taste of Covington, a food and wine experience which has grown into an economic engine with a budget of over $50,000.
A Taste of Covington now runs in conjunction with the STAA's Spring for Art, giving tourist and locals five full days and nights of food, wine, shopping, art and entertainment. A Taste of Covington has grown and routinely adds over $10,000 annually to the Covington Business Association for the promotion of the business community.
Because of the success in Covington, the city of Mandeville asked Cliff to serve as chairman of the 4th Annual Octoberfeast - A Taste of Mandeville. Cliff will also be in charge of the first A Taste of Olde Towne Slidell in October 2017 and the 7th Annual A Taste of Covington in April 2018.
In 2014 he became the chairman and president of the Three Rivers Art Festival, a two day event that brings over 50,000 people to Covington.
In January 2015, Cliff was honored by the West St. Tammany Chamber of Commerce with the Community Service Award.
